The Lost Temple (Project Womble)

This is one I can safely shout, "I did it first" Back on a damp January (2011) evening was the visit.

The full story goes like this,

Two dudes bought at auction a plot of land "ex reservoir" it said on the sheet, the guys had visited the plot and thought reservoir, pond like hole in the ground now filled in.

After buying the plot they found a strange hatch and well the photos illustrate "buyer beware"

Anyway PLANS for Bolton's first underground eco-house have been given the green light by planning chiefs.

The scheme — which has been dubbed ‘the womble project’ after the 1970s Wombles characters who lived underground — will see an underground reservoir transformed into a five-bedroom luxury house beneath a field.

Built in the late 1960's this is one of many unused underground reservoirs in Bolton, approx 50 x 50 metres, 6 metres ish in height, with an echo to die for. Down the ladder the and the darkness fell.
